OSHA’s proposed Hazcom GHS standard

San Diego AIHA Local Section:

On behalf of the CIHC and SD AIHA Government Affairs, please consider weighing in on OSHA’s proposed Hazcom GHS standard regarding the issue of TLVs not being a requirement for Safety Data Sheets under the proposal. Information from CIHC is listed below with links to letters to use as examples:

• Share fact that CIHC weighed in on this important federal issue that will impact all who work in EHS, as well as their stakeholders.

• Encourage individual local section members to send in their own letters (on their own letterhead) into the federal government. The federal government views “quantity” of feedback as important. I’ve heard this from at least three regional OSHA directors. Two letters have been attached for members to consider.

• Request that their individual letters be sent to the Honorable Hilda Solis, with a copy to Jordan Barab (his address located on Howard’s letter as a cc).

• Request that a copy be sent onto Aaron Trippler, our national AIHA Governmental Affairs Director as well
