Fire Chief Mainar to Keynote the 2011 PAC SOUTHWEST Conference

The San Diego Chapters of ASSE & AIHA will host the 36th Annual Pacific Southwest Safety & Health Conference on Wednesday, October 5 and Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Handerly Hotel in Mission Valley. This year's program will present concurrent tracks in Industrial Hygiene and Safety topics and a third track established to cover construction safety and emergency response topics.

Keynote speakers include:

· The Changing Face of Emergency Response by San Diego Fire Chief Javier Mainar

· Nick Vent is the Supervising Environmental Health Specialist for the
County of San Diego. His topic is "From Bodies to Bombs" relating the
events of the Heaven's Gate Suicide of 1997 and the Escondido Bomb House
of 2010.

· Crisis Communications presented by CalEMA specialists
